About Loud Luxury

Loud Luxury’s Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace know a thing or two about hypnotic grooves. Not long after the two London, Ontario, friends began making music together in the mid-2010s, their silky future-house touch attracted the attention of artists like Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren and Tiësto, who gave them their first breaks. But as they evolved as producers, Loud Luxury came to the realisation that the song comes first. That might explain both the versatility of their work as well as the stickiness of their hits. To test themselves, Loud Luxury might try writing in an unfamiliar style, like dancehall. “Then we figure out how to produce it afterward,” Fedyk explained to Apple Music. “We kind of remix our own songs,” said Depace. That approach has yielded some important creative breakthroughs. They’ve fused country with tropical house on the Bryce Vine collaboration “I’m Not Alright” and flirted with indie textures on “Cold Feet”; though they left Canada for LA in 2015, they paid homage to Toronto’s hallowed R&B tradition with the silky “Body”, featuring fellow Los Angeleno brando. Along the way, the duo’s ear for a good hook has netted some seriously high-profile remixes, including Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” and Martin Garrix and Dua Lipa’s “Scared to Be Lonely”. “Starting with a good song makes sure that you’re starting with a really good foundation, and you can go anywhere with it,” said Fedyk. Loud Luxury are living proof of it. In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In both cases, it was seeing musical idols on TV at a young age. For Andrew - The Beegees and how they reinvented their sound & brought disco to the mainstream. For Joe - Gene Simmons and the unique showmanship he brought to KISS for many years. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting to perform our songs on big stages to legendary TV spots like James Corden + Ryan & Kelly. It is always an honour to represent a not well understood genre like dance music on such big stages. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Too many name. The journey is just getting started... Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. "Body (feat. Brando) (Orjan Nilsen Remix)" A bit cliche but Body will always be special because of how it took us from living in a 1 bedroom apartment in a shady neighborhood to seeing the world. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Calvin Harris, Ready for the Weekend deadmau5, Random Album Title Tiësto, Elements of Life These along with countless others which we could name were what took our love for dance music from an innocent spark to a burning flame.
