About Gregor Salto

Dutch DJ and producer Gregor Salto spins high-energy house with jungle, Latin, and tribal touches. Born Gregor van Offeren in Haarlem, he learned piano at a young age, but quickly fell for house music, writing his first song at the age of 14. As a teenage DJ, he honed his craft and issued his first tracks via Outland Records at the age of 18. He also released music under the moniker Scuba and as part of the duos Luna Mora and Danny & Graxx with Danny van den Berg. In 2001, Salto started his own label, G-Rex Music. He scored his first charting song with 2005's "Can't Stop Playing" featuring Dr. Kucho!, which was a hit in the Netherlands and Belgium. A steady stream of singles followed, notably 2009's "Lambada 3000" featuring Kaoma and 2014's "Samba do Mundo" with Saxsymbol and Todoro, which both peaked in the Top 20 of the Dutch charts. His debut full-length, Ultimate Miami 2, arrived in 2014. On the side, Salto crafted remixes for Rihanna ("Diamonds"), Pitbull (the Grammy-nominated "Echa Pa'lla"), and Major Lazer ("Powerful"), while also working with frequent collaborators like Chappell and Chuckie. In 2011, he issued the first volume of his Tropical Tips series, which notched five installments by 2016. He is also the host of the monthly Salto Sounds podcast. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
