Bingo Players—originally the duo of Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer—got their start in the mid-2000s making rave-ready electro-house infused with the trademark grit and squelch of the “dirty Dutch” scene. But it was with the rise of big-room EDM that they really made their mark: With its monster beat and wiggly, sax-like riff, their 2011 banger “Rattle” helped kick off a wave of bold, saucy anthems that crossed over from festivals to the airwaves. Following Bäumer’s death from cancer in 2013, Hoogstraten carried on under the Bingo Players name, and in the years since, he’s continued to diversify his sound, offering trance-pop fusions on 2014’s emotional “Knock You Out” and disco flash on 2018’s “Love Me Right”. But he’s never abandoned his floor-filling instincts: Tracks like 2022’s bouncy “Nightshift” and the same year’s acidic “State Of Mind” prove that whatever the party brings, Hoogstraten’s got the soundtrack to fit the vibe.
