For a brief period in 2013, a surprising trio—rising D.C. star Fat Trel, Atlanta street rapper Alley Boy and No Limit veteran Master P—formed like Voltron for a pair of collaborative mixtapes. The first was Al Capone, a collection of triumphant trap bangers that serve as a hustler’s how-to manual. Master P’s baritone sounds perfect over the twerk-friendly West Coast slap of “Brick to a Million”, and the Meek Mill–featuring “Paper Right” is a high-volume motivational anthem (in both decibel level and cash flow).
