About Andrè Schuen

Versatile and charismatic, baritone Andrè Schuen is a prominent figure among his generation of opera stars from Italy. His native tongue was a small regional language called Ladin, and he also spoke Italian and German; he has sung professionally in all three languages. Schuen was already performing widely by the time he graduated from the Mozarteum in 2010, appearing in 2009 in Luigi Nono's Al gran sole carico d’amore. From 2010 to 2014, he was a member of the Graz Opera Company. Schuen made a splash with his appearances at the Theater an der Wien in 2014 in a series of productions of Mozart operas and has also made an impact as a lieder singer, often appearing with pianist Daniel Heide. In 2015, Schuen made his recording debut on CAvi-music. In 2020, he was signed to the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label and issued Schubert's Die schöne Müllerin, in 2021.
