Ultramagnetic MC's Essentials

Ultramagnetic MC's Essentials

When they dropped their debut album back in 1988, it seemed like the Bronx-based Ultramagnetic MC's were actually broadcasting from another dimension. Commandeered by Ced-Gee's innovative, funked-up production and Kool Keith's brilliantly abstract and scientific lyrics, Critical Beatdown was hailed as a classic of the era. 1992's Funk Your Head Up was released against a backdrop of claims the group's label had enlisted outside producers to alter their sound, although 1993's The Four Horsemen hit cult status thanks to jazz-tinged production by Godfather Don.
