Los Angeles' Tha Alkaholiks burst on the scene in the early '90s as hip-hop party animals. Consisting of the MCs J-Ro and Tash plus the producer E-Swift, they came up under the tutelage of King Tee and delighted in dropping rhymes about their penchant for knocking back the beers. 1993's debut, 21 & Over, hit home as an entertaining snapshot of Tha Liks' style as the wild punchlines flew forth over undeniably funky beats. 1995's Coast II Coast and 1997's Likwidation were equally well received and confirmed the trio as an always welcome addition to the scene.
