Rob McNelley: The Session Musicians

Rob McNelley: The Session Musicians

In country songs, the guitarist usually sets the tone, and Nashville veteran Rob McNelley has a gift for conjuring whatever vibe is necessary. He does shadowy and bold for Miranda Lambert’s troublemaker “Actin’ Up”, and his sound is subtle and understated on Lainey Wilson’s “Things A Man Oughta Know”. But he’s down and dirty for Eric Church’s “Bad Mother Trucker” and he puts on a rousing arena-rock performance for Carrie Underwood’s “Cry Pretty”.
