Clay Aiken Essentials

Clay Aiken didn't actually win first place on American Idol during his run on the show's third season, but he didn't have to. America had already been exposed to the singer's massive, heart-melting voice, and wanted more. With the release of his first album, The Measure of a Man, Aiken came out swinging with an edgy, adult alternative sound. That album set a record for the highest-selling work by an Idol contestant during its first week. Since then, Aiken's more recent four albums have mellowed in style, embracing a jazzier, more mature tone.
