Tompi wears many hats, both literally and figuratively; as well as being a fan of headgear, he’s a singer, doctor and has moonlighted as a TV presenter and film director. Born Teuku Adifitrian in Aceh, he shot to prominence in the mid-2000s thanks to a string of laid-back, smooth hits including “Selalu Denganmu”, “Salahkah” and “Sedari Dulu” that showcase his formidable, jazz-inflected vocals. Aside from his steady stream of solo work, he was also one-third of Trio Lestari, alongside the late R&B icon Glenn Fredly and the bluesy singer-songwriter Sandhy Sondoro.
