About The Black Keys

Although the Black Keys share a few similarities with the White Stripes, they're a tougher, rougher rock band with a purist streak that never surfaced in the Stripes. That's not to say that the Black Keys are blues traditionalists: even on their 2002 album debut, they covered the Beatles' psychedelic classic "She Said She Said," indicating a fascination with sound and texture that took hold later in the 2000s on Attack & Release, where they teamed up with sonic architect Danger Mouse, and Brothers, a soul-blues record produced at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Even as they topped the album charts with 2014's Turn Blue, the Black Keys have remained a soulful rock & roll band with a primal force, and songwriters of considerable depth.
