Acoustic rock duo Snake Oil & Harmony produce an affecting, heartfelt strain of bluesy, soulful songwriting, as on their 2020 debut album Hurricane Riders. Snake Oil & Harmony formed in 2015 after Danny Vaughn of New York hard rockers Tyketto, and Dan Reed of Oregon funk-rockers Dan Reed Network, met backstage at Download and immediately hit it off. Both acclaimed singers and songwriters in their own rights and industry veterans with decades of studio and stage experience between them, they saw the potential of combining their talents and decided to form a duo to perform live acoustic performances of songs from their back catalogs. The resulting shows were a resounding success, and fans clamored for them to write material together. The result was their debut album, Hurricane Riders. Recorded at Prague's Faust Studios and released in 2020 on Zero One Music, it saw the duo expand to a full band with the addition of Swedes Bengt Jonasson (bass) and Robert Mehmet Sinan İkiz (drums). ~ John D.
