Sabyan Gambus

Sabyan perform devotional Islamic hymns, typically featuring traditional Arabic instrument the gambus, shining them through a prism of Western instruments. It gives a refreshing palette of sounds, led by the charming vocals of frontwoman Nissa Sabyan. They rose to prominence in 2018 with their debut single “Ya Maulana” which went on to win an Indonesian Music Award—a feat they repeated the following year with “Syukran Lillah”.
