Taking time off from his full-time gig of Earwig, guitarist and vocalist Lizard McGee would spend many hours in his Columbus, OH, bedroom recording a number of lo-fi acoustic pop numbers on his own four-track. Inspired by the likes of R.E.M., Guided By Voices, and even Stevie Wonder, McGee would incorporate an instrumentation of drums, keyboards, guitar, bass, and clarinet and package a self-titled EP through his own Lizard Family Music in 2001. ~ Mike DaRonco
