Kenso

About Kenso

Japanese band Kenso was formed in 1974 by Yoshihisa Shimizu. The group went into hibernation after a time, due to Shimizu's medical studies. In 1979 they began to work together in earnest again and released a self-titled album the following year. Two years later they released Kenso 2nd and Kenso 3rd was released in 1985. One year after, they released the live album, In Concert and the following year the group released Self Portrait, a compilation album. It would not be until 1989 that the group's next album, Sparta, would be released. Two years later they followed that release with Yume no Oka. Several live albums have been released since then, and the group continues to perform. ~ Gary Hill
