About Eat Skull

Part of the loosely configured late-'00s lo fi punk scene, Eat Skull embodied two key hallmarks of the movement: great pop hooks and mountains of basement level fuzz. Rooted in kiwi pop, straight punk, and maybe a hint of folk, the Portland-based quartet showed a penchant for snazzy songwriting despite its deliberately coarse recording techniques. By the time of its second full-length in 2009, the Siltbreeze-released WILD AND INSIDE, Eat Skull had toned down some of its more abrasive sonic tendencies, while still maintaining a kitchen-sink approach to crafting hummable garage melodies.
