About D.F.L.

Tim Davis was well on his way to becoming a champion underwater karate surfer, having trained in the Atwater Falls of Jamaica, when he met Monty Messex at a boys club in Hollywood, CA. When Davis returned to Los Angeles to attend his sister's wedding and reconnected with Messex, the two decided to form a hardcore punk band. With Davis handling lead vocals and Messex purchasing a 25-dollar guitar, the wheels were set in gear. Auditioning bass players and drummers, Davis and Messex went through 20 bass players before deciding on ex-Beastie Boys bassist Adam Horowitz and drummer Tony "Smokebomz" Converse. A few months later, the group, which assumed the name Dead Fucking Last (also known as D.F.L.), earned a standing ovation with their unrelenting set on the second stage of Lollapalooza in Los Angeles. Horowitz was later replaced by Tommy B. ~ Craig Harris
