Verdi’s tempestuous Requiem is a cornerstone of the Romantic era, and certainly one of his most performed works. The LSO and Gianandrea Noseda give a standout reading here, filled with palpable love (“Kyrie”) and fury (“Dies irae”). The London Symphony Chorus give a refined performance, highlighting Verdi’s dramatic flair.
