Colombia became fertile ground for the 21st-century convergence of Latin pop and reggaetón, and singer/songwriter Feid (born Salomón Villada Hoyos) is part of that generation. Growing up in Medellín, he knew early that singing was his calling, but he first found success in the music industry penning hits for Reykon, Nicky Jam, J Balvin and others. (He composed more than 150 songs in his first decade in the biz.) His 2015 solo debut, Así Como Suena, helped him carve out a romantic niche; 2019’s 19 upped the ante with a Latin Grammy nomination. It was followed a year later by the deliciously melancholy, lovelorn FERXXO.
