About Walk Off the Earth

With a jubilant, quirky style, Walk Off the Earth blend folk, pop and rock flavours with infectious beats that borrow from a panoply of international grooves. The band make a widescreen sound with small-scale tools, focusing on acoustic approaches, with each member playing multiple instruments, including ukulele, banjo, mandolin, glockenspiel, kalimba and more. Forming in Burlington, Ontario, in 2006, Walk Off the Earth released several indie albums before a cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” went viral online and snagged the group a deal with Columbia. Their first major-label album, 2013’s R.E.V.O., became a breakout record, with the aforementioned cover and the original “Red Hands” becoming international hits. Amid multiple lineup changes, frontman Gianni “Luminati” Nicassio has remained a constant guiding light. Sometimes collaborating with an international array of guests (Phillip Phillips, Lukas Graham, Tenille Townes), the band have always forged a good-time feel full of fresh visuals and beachy, summertime vibes.
