Tim Buckley Essentials

Though better known in some circles for being the estranged father of late singer Jeff Buckley, Tim Buckley's ever-changing career was one of the most fascinating musical journeys of the '60s and early '70s. The Orange County, California native was only 19 when he released a self-titled debut album full of orchestrated folk-rock tunes. After the similar Goodbye and Hello and Happy Sad, Buckley's music took a turn for the avant-garde on a trio of experimental, jazz-influenced LPs before shifting into a form of blue-eyed soul. A long-time heroin addict, Buckley died at only 28 in 1975.
