Pelt Essentials

Since 1993, Pelt, have been one of indie/post-rock's most consistent and original voices in exotic, droning, folk-inflected music. Founded by violinist Mike Gangloff, the Virginia-based outfit truly found its voice when now-legendary guitarist Jack Rose joined the fold. The group explored aspects of traditional musics from around the world, bringing Eastern melodies and instrumentation, as well as the spirit of raw blues, into the mix. Though Rose would leave Pelt in 2006, the addition of multi-instrumentalist Nathan Bowles has helped keep the exploratory spirit of the band alive and well.
