Rui Bandeira represented Portugal at Eurovision in 1999, two years before his daughter was born; two decades later, she’s one of her country’s most vital voices in modern pop. Her debut EP, 2018’s Cartes, is something of a mission statement: a bright, breezy affair matching whip-smart lyricism with killer hooks and irresistible melodies on tracks such as “A Última Carta” and “Como Sou”.
