In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was about four, standing next to the piano as my cousin played a Chopin Nocturne. I was mesmerized, time stopped. I didn’t know music could do that, but I knew I wanted to be part of it somehow. That moment never left me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Berliner Philharmoniker, Claudio Abbado, Martha Argerich, Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26 - Ravel: Piano Concerto in G Major, M. 83; Gaspard de la nuit, M. 55 Maria João Pires, Le Voyage Magnifique – Schubert: Impromptus & 3 Klavierstücke Sviatoslav Richter, Sviatoslav Richter plays Schubert - Sonatas Nos. 19 & 21 Pires taught me that simplicity can be devastating. Argerich’s Ravel is raw instinct and brilliance. Richter’s Schubert feels like the last breath of someone who’s said everything there is to say. Adagio” I chose the first piece of Brahms Op. 119 because it’s all shadow and hesitation, like someone trying to speak but getting lost in thought. I love how it manages to be both intimate and unsettled, even defiant in its quiet way.
