Electronic jazz-hop trio NLite. have casually assembled a line-up that exudes melodic and improvisational strength on this live EP. Collaborating with vocalist and spoken-word poet Sio, Zimbabwean bassist Tendai “Shoxx” Shoko and lauded American drummer Marcus Gilmore, this session revolves around “Between Realms”, the tender track taken from NLite.'s self-titled debut album. The state broadcaster’s treated walls play host to this off-the-cuff improvised jam session, centred around Sio’s lulling, lusty voice spitting a unique poetry verse about the intricacies of a tense, emotional encounter between two parties. Complemented by Gilmore’s light, rhythmic drum patterns and Shoxx’s full-bodied basslines, it’s a collaboration drenched in sensuality.
