Puerto Rico-born Tommy Torres is a quintessential Latin artist. From the late 1990s on, he’s written, produced and arranged for the likes of Ricardo Arjona, Jesse & Joy, and Ricky Martin, to name just a few. But as a singer-songwriter in his own right: He’s scored his share of hits with his own recordings, beginning with his self-titled debut album in 2001. On remarkable solo records like 2004’s Estar de Moda No Esta de Moda and 2012’s 12 Historias, he takes risks that the stars who tap him to craft their singles wouldn't necessarily opt for. His tender croon touches Spanish-language ballads like “Dame Esta Noche” and “Pegadito” as well as memorable pop tunes such as “Mientras Tanto” and the Daddy Yankee pairing “Tú y Yo”. More recently, Torres has expanded his sonic palette with urban-adjacent singles like “Como Antes” and reimaginings of older songs including an acoustic take on “De Rodillas”.
