Breathing new life into folk music, Britain's Stornoway gradually went from local Oxford troubadours to pop mainstays. From the opening moments of their 2010 debut Beachcomber's Windowsill, they played with the whimsicality of folk by combining gorgeous all-male harmonies with catchy hooks. Acoustic guitars complement mainly organic instrumentation, as frontman Brian Briggs' choirboy-meets-indie frontman vocal floats atop Britpop-tinged pop cuts.
