Mike Viola Essentials

Mike Viola's long and varied career—the power-popper has written for artists like Ryan Adams and Panic! At the Disco—got its kickstart with the jangly title smash from the 1996 Tom Hanks vehicle That Thing You Do!. He honed his skills in the eclectic Boston and New York City indie scenes of the '80s, and has since used his deft songwriting hand to create romantic rock ‘n' roll tunes like the swaying “King Kong Hand” and sweet, nostalgic folk like “Hair Of The Dog”. He even did a smattering of songs for Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, including the breezy country track “A Life Without You (Is No Life At All)”.
