Albert King: Next Steps

Albert King: Next Steps

Besides just being a bad-ass guitarist, Albert King was a true modernist. Not only would he turn a tune with a strong soul/R&B base into churning blues, he'd funk things up for good measure, being a man at the leading edge of blending blues licks and funky grooves. Whether getting on the goodfoot, bathing in wah-wah like he did on "Answer to the Laundromat Blues", or being shadowed by soul-style female backup singers as on "Flat Tire", King was one of his generation's most adaptable bluesmen.
