About Rasmus Seebach

Rasmus Seebach is a Danish singer/songwriter who debuted to chart-topping success in 2009 with smash hit single "Engel," a trio of Top Five follow-up hits, and a five-times-platinum eponymous album that charted number one for a half-year's time. Born on March 28, 1980, he is a son of Tommy Seebach, a famous Danish pop singer who regularly competed in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix contest during the '80s, and was chosen to represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. In the decade leading up to his solo debut, Rasmus established himself as a hitmaker. In tandem with his brother Nicolai Seebach, he founded the production group Top Notch Music and worked with Danish pop artists such as Jokeren, Natasja, B-Boys, and Big Brovas. He also dabbled in hip-hop for a while, releasing the G-Bach album Skakmat (1999). In association with Universal Music, Seebach made his solo recording debut with "Engel," which rose to number one on the Danish singles chart over the course of a couple months. His self-produced eponymous album debut, Rasmus Seebach (2009), was eventually released in October, four months after "Engel," and spawned a trio of Top Five hit follow-up singles ("Glad Igen," "Den Jeg Er," "Lidt i Fem"). The second-best selling album of the year in Denmark, Rasmus Seebach spent 25 weeks at number one. Moreover, Seebach also proved popular in Sweden, where he reached the Top Ten of the albums chart with his full-length debut and the Top Five of the singles chart with "Natteravn." ~ Jason Birchmeier
