About Pianohooligan
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 3 years old, I listened to the chamber music groups led by my mother and looked at the scores. I liked it so much that I decided to make my own composition, even though I didn't know musical notation yet. I still have this 'drawing'. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aphex Twin, ...I Care Because You Do Biosphere, Substrata Weather Report, Heavy Weather These albums seriously influenced me and my perception of music. They provoked me to take action and my own intense search for authenticity in creating art. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Prelude No. 3 in C Sharp Major” This prelude is important to me because it was born spontaneously from singing. I was whistling and singing this tune for fun for many years, and in this case I decided to put it in the context of a piano piece. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I remember after winning the competition at Montreux Jazz Festival, in a corridor full of people, the chairman of the jury, Tommy LiPuma, grabbed my hand and said - 'Keep following this path and don't look back at anything!'. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The most important obligation of an artist seems to me to be constant development and self-questioning, to always look at your path with fresh eyes. It's we who are responsible for the true development of music.
