About Kay-T

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Waking up to his parents playing songs of Rick James, Joan Armatrading, Al Jarreau and etc was how Kay-T's Day used to start as a little kid. It eventually changed to songs of Jay-Z, 50 cent and DMX being blasted at insane decibels by his brothers. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 50 Cent, Get Rich or Die Tryin Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, How Fly Lupe Fiasco, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor Kay-T literally grew up on 50 cent "G-Unit radio mixtapes" and he feels like "Get Rich or Die Trying" is the most iconic album of all time. Food and Liquor is the theme song to his high school life. How Fly is a reminder of simpler times in his life. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Ghost (feat. Ahtitude & Medikal)” This song means the most to him because this was the very first time one of his songs truly broke into the mainstream scene in Ghana fully. Kay-T could visibly see and feel his fanbase connecting with him and expanding. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? He caught fire with his trap song “Teeshi” in 2017. After garnering a lot of attention, he took some time off to hone his craft while shooting music videos for other mainstream artists like Medikal, Odunsi, Darkovibes etc one of which won an award. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Kay-T still has a world of things he wants to accomplish. He is just getting started and both as an artist and a video director. Gracing stages like Rolling Loud, Lollapalooza, etc and also pivoting from directing music videos to directing movies.
