Harriet

Harriet is an English singer/songwriter known for her eclectic and vast vocal range. Raised on a diet of classic music such as the Carpenters and the Beatles, she came from a music-loving family and inherited her father’s passion for singing and discovering new artists. This led the young creative to finding her own voice. She was soon writing her own songs and uploading them to YouTube. She uploaded her first original song, "Afterglow," to SoundCloud in 2014. The track soon racked up plays, which brought her to the attention of BBC Radio 2. She was asked to perform on Graham Norton's BBC Radio 2 Seasonal Special. Harriet received phenomenal support from the radio host and more success followed; alongside continuous airplay, she received further acclaim from prominent figures in the entertainment industry such as Tony Blackburn, Paul O’Grady, and Denise Van Outen, with particular commendations for her first official release, the What’s Mine Is Yours EP. She followed this up with her second EP, Maybe This Christmas, at the end of 2014. Her performances on that album led critics to compare her vocal abilities to Karen Carpenter's. 2015 saw the release of a covers EP in which she delivered her own versions of "Every Breath You Take" by the Police and "I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith, as well as original compositions such as "Fly" and "Love Will Burn." Toward the end of the year, she put out a Christmas album that met with much success, alongside sold-out shows in London. Harriet then got to work on her eponymous full-length debut with producer Steve Anderson (Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis), which was released in 2016. ~ Rob Wacey
