About Daniel Bedingfield
A savvy songwriter and producer whose melding of garage with pop hit big in the early '00s, Daniel Bedingfield is still making pop moves. Bedingfield was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1979 and grew up in southeast London. In 2001 he released “Gotta Get Thru This”, a punchy portrait of longing that he'd created in a home-recording setup, and it lit up dance floors around the world. It was the lead single off his eponymous debut full-length, released the following year, which included chart-toppers like the plush ballad “If You’re Not the One”. In early 2004, Bedingfield was in a serious car accident in New Zealand; later that year, Second First Impression came out while he was still suffering from the aftereffects of the crash. After taking a break from the music business to recuperate, he became an in-demand songwriter, penning hits like Fifth Harmony’s “Work from Home” and Secondcity’s “I Wanna Feel” as well as songs for the likes of Pixie Lott and Weezer.
