The Virginia Beach modern rock four-piece Car 44 has been shaping it's pop hooks since it's formation in 1996. Frontwoman Dahna Rowe, guitarist John Conkle, bassist Rob D., and drummer Billy Crawford mold a melodically raw pop sound similar to the likes of the Throwing Muses and Bettie Serveert. Car 44, who worked with Rollins Band guitarist Chris Haskett on their initial debut, released Platinum Holes in summer 2000. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
