About 3's a crowd

A folk-rock collective formed in 1964 in Vancouver, 3's a Crowd was originally formed as the Bill Schwartz Quartet (though no Bill Schwartz actually existed) by Donna Warner, Trevor Veitch and Brent Titcomb. By 1966, the group had moved to Toronto, released their first single and recruited new members Bruce Cockburn, Richard Patterson, David Wiffen and Comerie Smith. Christopher's Movie Matinee appeared in 1968, but the band had already broken up. 3's a Crowd re-formed just one year later, however, to appear on a variety series for Canadian television called One More Time. None of the original members still remained, though; the lineup comprised Patterson, Wiffen, Cockburn, Collen Peterson, Sandy Crawley and Dennis Pendrith. Cockburn left soon after for a solo career and then the group split for the final time. Peterson has also had success as a solo act. ~ John Bush
