In the world of modern Vallenato legends, Los Betos are ranked among the very best. A musical meeting of minds between Beto Zabaleta and accordionist Emilio Oviedo meant the popular Colombian duo ruled the airwaves throughout much of the ‘80s, plumping up a raw folk tradition with electronic drums, while using backing vocalists, hypnotic caja beats and quicksilver accordion to narrate their everyday tales of life and love.
