Kate Ceberano Essentials

After a stint in the funk-leaning '80s act I'm Talking, Melbourne native Kate Ceberano embarked on a twist-filled solo career that has included fruitful stops in soul and jazz. Her early solo singles established both her slinky sultriness (“Bedroom Eyes”) and Madonna-esque verve (“Love Dimension”) against bubbly electro-pop, while she scored her biggest hit with 1997's straighter “Pash”, a sing-along ode to the kiss. Ceberano's flair for drama has seen her thrive in acting roles, and her turn as Mary Magdalene in 1993's touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar yielded the mood-swinging John Farnham team-up “Everything's Alright”.
