Since their inception in 2010, this German power trio has sustained itself on a lean diet of sexy distortion, mountainous yawps and bluesy swagger. Over the course of four albums, the Berliners pose the question: What if Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes and Black Sabbath transcended time and space and combined to create the ultimate contemporary psych-rock music? The result would sound something like Kadavar. Still, these longhairs put their own definitive stamp on things—tracks like “Last Living Dinosaur” and “Lord of the Sky” layer spacious, gravelly riffs on top of pummeling grooves, crafting a new pulse for hard rock.
