About Sheena Easton

Scottish singer Sheena Easton boasts a strong, versatile soprano that can handle lush Bond themes, tender country duets and feisty Prince flirtations. Born in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, in 1959, Easton rose to stardom after appearing on a BBC documentary series that chronicled the making of her uptempo 1980 debut, “Modern Girl”. She hit even bigger with its jaunty follow-up, “Morning Train (Nine to Five)”, and released her first album in early 1981. A few months later, she released "For Your Eyes Only" in conjunction with that James Bond blockbuster. In the mid-’80s, she became a muse for Prince, who had a hand in her lightly funky (and controversial) 1984 single “Sugar Walls” and the pair’s pounding 1987 duet “U Got The Look”; she also showed off her softer side on “We’ve Got Tonight”, a 1983 country ballad with Kenny Rogers. Easton, whose last release was the 2000 hi-NRG album Fabulous, has a discography packed with powerhouse, era-defining cuts.
