Ria Ideta

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Ria began playing marimba at the age of 6,and has been arranging music since her childhood based on her special talent of being able to play without sheet music once she hears it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? 18 years old, she moved to Paris to study at Conservatoire de Paris(CNR),and promptly won first prize at the 1st International Marimba Competition in Paris in 2003. She has performed at the most prestigious chamber music festivals in the world. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Since 2012 Ria Ideta has been a resident artist of the Munich Chamber Opera(KOM).Ria is also actively involved in commissioning activities,and has been involved in the world premieres of many works.Visiting professor at Heisei College of Music.
