María Isabel

Singer María Isabel makes atmospheric pop rooted in R&B with Latin and electronic flourishes. She grew up in a Dominican-American family and began singing at a young age influenced by artists like Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Selena, and Shakira. Writing in both English and Spanish, she developed a warm, vulnerable pop sound. Live shows followed, and in October 2020, she issued her debut EP, Stuck in the Sky. Included on the release was the song "The 1." A Spanish version of the title track, "atrapada en el cielo," arrived in February 2021. That September, she released her second EP, I Hope You're Very Unhappy Without Me.
