Lola Amour

There’s seemingly no need for rules for Lola Amour. The seven-member band are innovators, marrying musical ideas from the farthest reaches of funk, rock and pop. Debut EP Don't Look Back is testament to how their initial friction—being formed from rival bands in high school—was a rich source of chemistry, and features its winning smooth brass section of Angelo Mesina (trumpet) and Joxx Perez (sax). As they parlay music club riffs and symphonic influences, sweetening the band’s youthful, exuberant re-workings of vintage ideas, it’s all too easy to fall for Lola Amour’s charms.
