Dicta License

About Dicta License

Meaning “license to speak”, Dicta License have been creating songs that put a critical lens on societal issues since 1999. Known for their radicalism, the four-piece subvert tropes via a fistful of rock, rap and grunge. They electrified OPM with their first full-length Paghilom (2005), including the hit “Ang Ating Araw”, which features philosophical screeds interwoven with guitar riffs, bass and drum explosions. After a hiatus, they returned with more fearless releases like 2020 single “Inosenteng Bala”, proving that they are public intellectuals who use music to raise awareness, especially when it’s most needed.
