About Danielle Carr
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember singing on an old karaoke machine at the age of three or four, belting Teena Marie's "I'm Still In Love." This was definitely the first time my family realized I could sing. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Amy Winehouse, Back to Black Black Eyed Peas, Monkey Business Mac Miller, Swimming These albums are complete thoughts. The storytelling in their songwriting is impeccable, as well as the musical arrangements. These are albums I could listen to beginning to the end, without any interruptions. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “B.G.A. (Black Girls' Anthem)” This song is almost a war cry for black women all over the world. This song allows a safe space for range and empowerment; as both can exist at once. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing at the Apollo, has to be by far the best. Selling out your own shows is an honor in itself, but to be recognized by a venue that has held so many iconic artists is truly rewarding. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I've been blessed to do almost everything I've wanted to. All that remains is performing at the Grammys, winning an award, selling out my own tour, and acting in a movie. These are the last few honorable mentions on my bucket list.
