Kate Miller-Heidke Essentials

A mantel heaving with operatic trophies made for priceless ballast when Kate Miller-Heidke launched herself into pop in the early '00s. Her classically trained pipes gave wings to tunes of boundless imagination and crystal clarity on debut album Little Eve, which crashed the ARIA top 10 in '07. Written with her husband, guitarist Keir Nutall, the more elaborate Curiouser was realised in LA in '09. Like album three, Nightflight, it charted at No. 2 at home while clawing a cult global following. Ongoing operatic roles from London to New York have only fuelled a prolific, eccentric career, from pop album No. 4, O Vertigo!, to the staging of her self-penned opera, The Rabbits in 2015.
