Quebradita Essentials

Quebradita—or “little break”—was a popular Mexican-American dance style in ‘90s-era Los Angeles. Groups like Banda Zeta and Banda Machos ignited the movement with their music, a mix of traditional bandas and faster percussive rhythms with lyrics about (what else?) dancing. The scene faded in the early '00s but the best songs remain an energetic blast.
