About The Paper Kites

The Paper Kites is an Australian indie rock band formed by Sam Bentley and Christina Lacy in 2010. ∙ After playing in Melbourne and self-releasing EPs, the band gained international attention with their 2010 Gold single, “Bloom.” ∙ The Paper Kites released the folk-influenced debut album States in 2013, before embarking on their first international headlining tour. ∙ The band added both synths and electric guitar to their sophomore LP, 2015’s twelvefour, which landed in the Top 10 of the Australian Albums chart. ∙ They spread one narrative across two albums on 2018’s On the Train Ride Home and On the Corner Where You Live, with the latter nominated for an ARIA Music Award. ∙ In 2020, they released Roses—a duets album with such popular folk artists as Julia Stone, Lucy Rose, and Aoife O’Donovan.
