About White Zombie
White Zombie, formed in 1985 by Rob Zombie and Sean Yseult, are known for incorporating horror film clips and imagery into their groove metal sound. ∙ The band’s first three EPs, as well as their first LP—1987’s Soul-Crusher—were released on Silent Explosion Records, the record label they owned and operated. ∙ Iggy Pop was an early fan and introduced them to music legend Bill Laswell, who produced their second record, 1989’s Make Them Die Slowly. ∙ Their 1992 Grammy-nominated La Sexorcisto - Devil Music Vol. 1 LP—featuring the Beavis and Butt-head-championed hit “Thunder Kiss ’65”—went double Platinum. ∙ “More Human Than Human” won Best Rock Video at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards. ∙ Astro-Creep: 2000 - Songs of Love, Destruction and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head was the band’s final and highest charting album, hitting No. 2 on the Billboard 200. ∙ VH1 included White Zombie on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.
