When it comes to experimental J-pop, few push boundaries further than WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA. The trio marry blend sophisticated EDM, smooth jazz and bouncy disco into their own brand of catchy, euphoric pop. Between 2012 and 2021, producers Dir.F and Kenmochi Hidefumi alongside singer and rapper KOM_I crafted a catalogue of mesmeric crackers such as the kitschy foot-tapper “Yeti” and the bass-heavy, Salvador Dalí-worshipping “Gala”. In 2021, KOM_I departed and was soon replaced by Utaha, whose vocals soar on tracks like 2022’s enchanting, house-inspired “Edison”.
